Why isn't Automation More Popular

In doing my research in pursuing a career path as an RPA developer I noticed that not many people know about RPA. There aren't a lot of youtube content and informational content.
The technology is out there. It does seem a little slow and clunky and perhaps a large reason is that it isn't Mac compatible, but stumbling onto Microsoft PowerPlatform and UiPath was like stumbling into the future.
A future where I see less monotony and more creative thinking. I think most people probably are wary of it in that it means that jobs opportunities in those industries will lighten a bit, but I can't see this train stopping anytime soon.

It almost does seem like being a proponent of Automation is like rooting for the bad guy, Skynet, the Cylones, ect. But from where I am standing, if I can spend more of my day interacting with thing's that I'm interested in with less clicks and less repetitive tasks, well then I am in.
